The Travel Hockey Player will typically have 2 practices per week. There will be split practices (shared with another team) and solo practices. Practices are on weeknights beginning in August. Typically, there are two games each weekend. The League season begins in October and ends in February, except for Midgets, who will start in September and end in November, with playoffs in January. Half of the games are anticipated to be at home, half away. The average travel time to games from the LawrencevilleSchool is 1 hour and the maximum is 2 hours. League play will not utilize all of your team's games. Non-league games will be swapped (home and home) by the team managers, typically with non-league teams. The scheduling of non-league games, and therefore determination of opponents, is left entirely to the individual teams’ coaches and managers. Travel teams participate in tournaments, typically two to three. The fee includes the entry fee for 1-2 tournaments, depending on the cost of the tournaments. Midgets will enter 3 showcase tournaments. Parents are responsible for all travel expenses. Teams may decide to enter additional tournaments and the individual teams are responsible for those entry fees.
